Teddies For Loving Care
Every bear we give helps children in hospitals feel a little bit more like children again
Welcome to TLC Suffolk
At TLC Suffolk we provide teddies for the comfort of children in distress. Our teddies are provided by the generosity of Suffolk Freemasons to do what they can to help children in hospital.
The Teddies for Loving Care initiative provides soft, cuddly bears to accident and emergency departments, for medical staff to give to children in distress. TLC Bears are used in many ways to help children settle nerves and prevent fear, as rewards for bravery and to enable medical staff to do their job as quickly and easily as possible for the child.
To date, the TLC appeal in Suffolk has given over 26,800 teddies to children in need across the county.
The TLC Movement
The TLC movement is run by counties on behalf of Freemasons and from their direct donations. It was originally started by the wife of a Southend Freemason in 2001 and it has grown from there.
